A Time for Giving: The Trinity Fund – 2021

Dear Trinity family,

The December countdown has begun.  So many fun activities are taking place this month, like The Bend Christmas Parade, Christmas Concerts for Pre-school/Pre-K, Lower School and Upper School, and special chapel services.

The beautiful story of the birth of our Savior, Jesus, will be told in many different ways.  The name Jesus means “He will save His people from their sins.”  The name Immanuel means “God with us.”  The Creator of the Universe takes on human form to become the salvation for all people.  We give all glory to God!

December is also a time for giving.  Here at Trinity, we have three primary sources of income: Church contributions given by the families who attend Trinity’s church, tuition and fees provided by our school families, and the Trinity Fund.

What is the Trinity Fund? The Trinity Fund was started in the fall of 2019 to provide additional excellence to our programs beyond what church contributions and tuition and fees could offer.  The money raised by the Trinity Fund each year is used during that year, and it does not carry over to another year. It is our annual fund drive.

When building our budget each year, we include some value-added items and trust God for the resources through His people to make those things happen.  The funds raised the past two years have allowed us to provide:

  • high-speed fiber optic internet access on campus
  • Materials to support our various ministries
  • financial aid for students in need
  • new educational programs like the visual arts that were started throughout the grade levels
  • support of staff ideas for creating greater connecting points for our family members
  • Support of the performing arts and athletic programs that used to rely solely on what they could raise during the course of a year

The Trinity Fund is designed to provide the excellence that develops our people’s gifts, talents, and abilities.  We have set lofty goals each year.  Goals that leave a lot of “God-room” in them, meaning they will only be reached by God touching the hearts of our Trinity family members.

Our 2021/2022 combined Trinity Fund Goal is $209,000.  Since we launched this year’s drive at the beginning of November, we have raised just over $20,000.  Last year, by the end of the school year, we raised $240,554 from an initial goal of $172,000.

You can give a one-time or a recurring gift to the Trinity Fund: General, Trinity Fund: Athletics, Trinity Fund: Performing Arts.  All donations are tax-deductible and may be given online: https://trinitybend.churchcenter.com/giving or mailed to Trinity Lutheran Church, 2550 NE Butler Market Road, Bend, 97701.  Many donors use a company match plan to increase their gifts.

More important than an amount is the number of participants.  We hope that every family will participate in this year’s Trinity Fund, and no gift is too small.

Thank you in advance for your partnership and your prayers.  I will give updates each week as we celebrate how God lets His people be involved in His great work.

Please feel free to contact me at gregg.pinick@saints.org or by cell at 714-728-5054 if you have questions or concerns throughout the year.

Until next time…

be God’s,
