Parish Health and Nursing Ministries

Our Director of Parish Health, April Garus (bio), leads a team in ministering to the health needs of the congregation and community. She engages the therapeutic qualities of church, community and faith in God to promote health, wellness and healing.  This includes collaborating with the pastoral staff, volunteers who provide caregiving-related services, and other healthcare professionals in the congregation.

Our Parish Nurse, Dawn Rompel (bio), is a part of the ultimate nursing experience, not only allowing, but encouraging holistic nursing for complete mind, body, and spiritual healing. May our hearts connect with our Lord Jesus to fulfill the relationship that He desires of us all, as we thrive to Love our Lord and Love each other in and with His Grace and Mercy.

April's gifts and responsibilities include:
Health and wellness counseling and referral resources
Facilitating support groups, including grief and women with cancer  
Providing health education classes and activities such as:
 Walk to Jerusalem
 Brain Games 
 Adventure Club 
 Nutrition Classes

As a Registered Nurse, Dawn has the following skills:
Private Health Consultation/Prayer
Sharing of multiple health resources
Education and/or Caregiver Assistance
List of available support groups for mental health, etc.
List of Actual Respite Organizations/Individuals
Coordinate volunteers for visitation, meals, and transportation
Guidance for Advanced Directives/POLST forms
Medication/supplements information
A listening ear for Prayer
Resource lending library

April's scheduled office hours are Mondays 11:30a.m. - 1:30p.m. and Wednesdays 10a.m. - 1p.m.
